Indoor Tennis
Tennis Bubble Information and Guidelines
The Potomac Swim and Tennis Club will proudly open the new Tennis Bubble in October 2011.
The first day of indoor play is October 25, 2011. The last day of indoor play is April 15, 2012.
The Tennis Bubble will cover three new hard surface courts during the winter months.
The Club will offer the following indoor tennis arrangements and activities:
- Contract Time (the same slot each week for the entire season)
- Spot Time (a single time slot reservation [subject to availability])
- Adult Clinics
- Junior Programs
- Private Lessons
To play tennis indoors, a winter membership is required (unless you play as the guest of a winter member and pay the guest fee of $15 per visit).
You can sign up now for the following winter membership categories at special low introductory rates for the 2011/2012 winter season in order to gain access to the PSTC Tennis Bubble:
Winter Season Membership Categories
1. Year Round Membership (summer members adding winter membership)
Adult $100 (per person)
Junior $50 (per person)
Family $250 (entire household ie both parents and all their children)
2. Winter Only Membership (for those who are not a member of the Club during the summer)
Adult $150 (per person)
Junior $100 (per person)
Family $350 (entire household ie both parents and all their children)
3. Instruction Only Membership (clinic/instructional program/private lesson only, cannot reserve contract or spot time)
Adult $50 (per person)
Junior $50 (per person)
Family not available; per person only.
Juniors are defined as individuals who are less than 19 years old at the time of registration.
Indoor Tennis Court Time Rates:
1. Contract Rates:
Prime $30 per hour
Non-Prime $24 per hour
Early Bird $12 per hour (i.e., $18 per 90 minute session) or $300 all you can eat*
* 'all you can eat' meaning you can play as often as you like during the Mon - Sat 6:30 - 8:00 time slot subject to availability.
2. Spot Rates:
Prime $35 per hour
Non-Prime $28 per hour
Early Bird $18 per hour
3. Definition of Prime, Non-Prime, Early Bird Times:
Prime Time
Monday - Friday 8:00am - 12noon; 6:00pm - 9:00pm
Saturday - Sunday 8:00am - 5:00pm
Non-Prime
Monday - Friday 12noon - 6:00pm
Saturday - Sunday 5:00pm - 9:00pm
Early Bird
Monday - Saturday 6:30am - 8:00am
4. Definition of Time Slots:
All court time slots are for 60 minutes (starting on the hour) except for the following 90 minute time slots:
Monday - Friday
6:30am - 8:00am
8:00am - 9:30am
6:00pm - 7:30pm (except on Mondays and Wednesdays)
7:30pm - 9:00pm
Saturday
6:30am - 8:00am
8:00am - 9:30am
9:30am - 11:00am
6:00pm - 7:30pm
7:30pm - 9:00pm
Sunday
8:00am - 9:30am
9:30am - 11:00am
6:00pm - 7:30pm
7:30pm - 9:00pm
Please review the graphic at the bottom of this page for the various indoor court time slots and the prime/non-prime classification.
Regardless of the duration of the time slot in question, the indicated hourly rates apply (meaning that a 90 minute time slot will cost 1.5 times the hourly rate).
Contract Time Reservation Policy:
PSTC will make contract time available to those members who had paid deposits when the Tennis Bubble project was initiated during an exclusive registration period, which starts on September 6 at 4:00pm and ends on September 9, 2011, at midnight.
Summer members who did not pay a deposit will be able to reserve court time during an exclusive registration period, which starts September 10 at 8:00am and ends September 11, 2011, at midnight.
Thereafter, starting at 8:00am on September 12, 2011, the registration process will be opened to all prospective members who are not members of PSTC during the summer.
All members and prospective members must select their membership category and reserve the desired contract time online. Payment in full for membership fee and court time contract amount is due upon registration; all transactions will be processed online.
All indoor tennis court contract time is subject to availability.
Please note that you must be a Year Round Member or a Winter Member to access and reserve contract time.
You can access and reserve contract time from the PSTC website (link below) and following the instructions provided below the link (you may find it helpful to print out these instructions before you proceed):
Instructions:
- If you already have a PSTC online account (i.e., you are a summer member):
(1) on the top of the any page on the PSTC website, click on "Click Here for Member Account Access";
(2) in the upper right hand corner of the page that loads, log into your PSTC account;
(3) in the upper right hand corner of the next webpage that loads, click on the tab "PSTC Payments", and
(4) also in the upper right hand corner, select "Contracts";
(5) next select the category of membership you desire and pay the membership fee;
(6) then select that tab entitled "Tennis Winter Contract Time".
- If you do not have a PSTC account (i.e., you are new to the club):
(1) on the top of this page and click on "Click Here for Member Account Access";
(2) on the page that loads, review the instructions to obtain a PSTC account.
(3) once you have established a PSTC account, return to this page and follow the instructions listed directly above.
Spot Time Reservation Policy:
Starting at 8:00am on October 21, 2011, the spot time reservation process will be opened to all Year Round and Winter Only members.
Payment in full for the spot time amount is due upon making the reservation. Reservation fees are not refundable.
All transactions will be processed online.
All indoor tennis court spot time is subject to availability.
Please note that you must be a Year Round Member or a Winter Member to reserve spot time.
You can become a winter member so that you can then reserve spot time by going to the PSTC website (link above) and following the instructions provided on this page under Contract Time Reservation Policy (you may find it helpful to print out these instructions before you proceed).
Guest Policy:
- All guests must be accompanying a Year Round or Winter Only member.
- A guest may not secure contract time or spot time.
- Each guest must be signed in/registered by the member accompanying them.
- The guest fee is $15 per person per visit and must be paid before play commences.
- Members will be assessed a fine of $50 per visit for any unregistered guests.

- The indoor tennis facility will be closed during these times:
- Thanksgiving Day
- Christmas Eve - closing at 3:00pm
- Christmas Day
- New Years Eve - closing at 3:00pm
- New Years Day
